Lethbridge Kodiaks vs Keyano Huskies Women's Futsal Championships

Keyano Huskies take on Lethbridge Kodiaks in the first match of the 2021-2022 futsal championships. Right off the bat the Kodiaks feel the offensive pressure put forward by the Huskies. Number 20 Nathalie Andersson was able to get her team on the board only 20 seconds into the first half. As Kodiaks pick up their defensive measures, number 17 Natalie Orellana continued with that same pressure and was able to lengthen her teams lead with a goal scored making that a 2-0 lead less than three minutes into play. With a turnover from the Huskies, number 22 Olivia DePasquale makes the best of the play and get her team on the board. Shortly after with a corner pass from number 2 Meaghan Welby, number 15 Jayna Timinski lands one in the back of the net tying the game 2-2. Huskies continue with their offensive pressure but are successful in getting anything past goalkeeper Jordan Quinn. In the last minutes of the first half both teams increase their play immensely battling it out to see if any of them can take a lead going into the second half. However, neither team can get past the goalkeepers, and we ended the first half all tied up 2-2.

Starting off the second half Huskies number 20 Nathalie Andersson is quick again with a goal 45 seconds into the second half, she gets her team the lead 3-2. Huskies bringing higher offensive pressure than we seen in first half number 8 Sophie Griffiths lengthens her teams lead to 4-2. Kodiaks bring on the defensive pressure and begin to spend more time in Huskie's zone. Where number 22 Olivia DePasquale shortens Keyano's lead to one point making it 4-3. With an assist from number 13- Marrisa Mestre number 18- Danika Depot making that 5-3 for Huskies. With her first of the game number 22- Selena Arima makes that a 6-3 lead.
