Ooks Fall to Broncos in Women's Hockey Semi-Final

Sunday night was a winner takes all match between the Olds Broncos and the NAIT Ooks at the NAIT Arena. Olds came out with the game three win and advanced to the finals.

Early into the first period, Olds got a quick goal on the powerplay from Jesse Jack. The team that scored first won the game in the previous two games, so this was a crucial goal for the Olds Broncos. NAIT answered back, scoring a powerplay goal of their own from Brittney Savard.

1-1 after one.

The game became much more conservative in the second period. The physical play also picked up as more penalties were being called, but neither team was budging defensively. It wasn't until less than a second left in the period that Maeve Van't Klooster scored the tiebreaker.

2-1 after two for Olds.

Olds had the early momentum in the third period carrying over from their last-second goal in the second. Although NAIT worked through it and started getting chances of their own, they still couldn't beat the strong Olds defense.

2-1 Olds final

Congrats on a great season to NAIT, and best of luck in the championship to the Broncos.
