Broncos Women’s Hockey fell 3-0 to the RDP Queens

The RDP Queens won 3-0 over the Olds College Broncos Women's Hockey team at the Olds Sportsplex on Thursday, March 3, 2022. This was the last regular season home game for the Broncos.
The first period started off slow for both teams. The Broncos first penalty of the night went to Sydney Jack for Handling the Puck. This put the Queens on the powerplay and the Queens Madison Sansom scored from Kyla Hansel & and Bryn Pollard at 6:21. Both teams struggled to stay upright throughout this period spending a lot of time on the ice. At the end of the first twenty minutes shots on net were 10 for the Broncos and 9 for the Queens.
Again a very very quiet period for both teams, with the first major action happening when the RDP Queens scored at 7:49. Their second goal was scored by Natalie Buttle from Mary Hirsch and Kassy Gaudette. The Broncos Ireland Greenhough skated to the box on an Interference call at 17:35. Shots on net were 8-4 for the Queens with the score 2-0 heading into the third.
Another rather uneventful period with few calls saw the Queens scoring their third and final goal taking the score to 3-0. The final goal was scored at 14:38 by Jailyn Bablitz from Mary Hirsch. Final shots on goal were 28-18 for the RDP Queens.
The player of the game for the RDP Queens was number 24, Mary Hirsch and the player of the game for the Olds College Broncos was number 5, Keera Tiringer.The Olds College Broncos travel to Red Deer tomorrow night (March 4, 2022) as they take on the RDP Queens.
