NAIT Defeats SAIT

The NAIT Ooks and the SAIT Trojans continued their season as they faced each other at the NAIT arena on Saturday evening.

SAIT got the early hand up on the Ooks by scoring the first two goals, both coming in a similar fashion with shots from the left circle from Elisa Erhardt and Aila Wik.

NAIT then responded with four straight goals of their own coming from Cass Lyttle, Brittney Savard, Charlieze Sallis, and Darby Robertson in a span of just over 5 minutes. SAIT responded with another goal from Aislynn Nachtegaele to cut the deficit to one, but NAIT added one more with a goal from Cassidy Shandro.

The second period resulted in two more goals from NAIT. Coming from Jessica Engelbrecht and Jordan McMillan. This extended the lead to four for NAIT.


7-3 for NAIT after two.


NAIT kept the pressure on in the third, adding three more goals to its total. The goals were from Bre Martin, Tayler Premak, and Brittney Savard. SAIT also made a goalie change in the third period subbing in Ali Kieren.


10-3 NAIT final score. The final shots were 53-18 for NAIT.


Both teams look forward to the next meeting and a strong rest of the year.
