Trojans hope first win is the start of something big

CALGARY, ALTA., (Oct. 20, 2018) — The monkey is off the back.

The SAIT Trojans women's hockey secured their first win of the season on Friday night, beating the Olds College Broncos 3-1 in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game played at SAIT Arena.

"It's so nice," said Trojans forward Karmen Mooney (4th year, Squamish, BC, Construction Project Management) when asked about the team getting their first win. "We talk all the time about our potential, and how we don't see it at times. To see it tonight was great."

SAIT moves to 1-5 on the year. Olds College falls to 2-3-1.

Mooney, Kelsey Patterson and Tashel Scantlebury scored for SAIT. Shauna Johnson scored Olds College's lone goal.
