St. Mary University Lightning take on the NAIT OOKS in game 4 of the 2025 Womens Basketball Championships

The NAIT OOKS go head-to-head with St. Mary's University Lightning to finish off day 1 of the women's basketball championships. The St. Mary's University (STMU) secured a commanding 74-54 victory over NAIT, fueled by efficient shooting and a strong defensive effort. STMU shot an impressive 62.5% from the field and 45.0% from beyond the arc, while NAIT struggled at 41.5% shooting and 33.3% from three-point range.

Jazmyn Kellogg led the way for STMU with 23 points, including three 3-pointers, while Ivet Hidalgo added 14 points. NAIT's Payton Neilson scored a team-high 20 points, but the team was plagued by 9 turnovers compared to just 1 from STMU, resulting in 9 points off turnovers for St. Mary's.

STMU also out-rebounded NAIT 21-20 and dominated in steals with 12, while NAIT's bench was outscored 22-12 by STMU's reserves. NAIT couldn't overcome their turnover woes and lack of offensive rebounds, and St. Mary's capitalized on their efficient shooting to maintain control throughout the game.
