Lightning End Season Play with a Win Against the Ooks

The Lightning came out firing in the first quarter of play with a 19 – 4 lead at one point. The Ooks started slow but did not back down and ended the quarter 23 - 11. The second quarter of play started with the Lightning and Ooks both fighting to win the game. The Ooks started off strong against the Lightning and led by #6 Payton Neilson started to close the gap. But Lightning #8 Ivet Hidalgo answered back and ended the half with 12 points and the Lightning led by 13 going into the second half. The second half started with the Ooks looking to close the gap. The Lightning fought hard but the Ooks won the quarter by 3 and the score at the end of the third was 58 to 48 in favour of the Lightning. The fourth quarter had both teams fighting hard to win the last season game for their team. The Lightning senior #6 Chayle Clark fought hard under the net and came up with key rebounds to set her team apart from the Ooks. With a hard fought fourth quarter in the books the Lightning came out on top and end the game with a 75 to 64 win against the NAIT Ooks.
