Rustlers come up short against Thunder

Rustlers come up short against Thunder

After a big win on Friday, Lakeland couldn't quite pull off a huge weekend sweep.

The Rustlers were trying to get two against the Concordia Thunder, who came into the weekend first in the North Division. In the 1st Quarter, the visitors were noticably more aggressive on defence, leading the Rustlers 14-12 after 10 minutes. The home side bounced back to lead 25-24 at the half and lead 40-38 going in the 4th Quarter. However, they continued to struggle on offence, and the Thunder were able to separate in a 61-56 win.

Susan Ayaa had a team high 18 points for the Rustlers, while Katelyn Bryks had 20 for Concordia. Ayaa and Madison Murdoch were the POG's.

With the loss, Lakeland drops back to 8-8, two wins back of 3rd in the North. They'll hit the road on Friday, to take on Medicine Hat and Briercrest.
