Lightning Aggressive Play Bodes Well in Early Lead on Rattlers

Lightning and Rattlers came out exchanging shot for shot from the start of the first. The Lightning then took off and scored 8 points in a row forcing a time out from the Rattlers. Rattlers came out aggressive after the time out but the Lightning defense didn't let up. The Lightning ended the quarter with a 14 point lead going into the second. Going into the second Lightning number 10 Maitlynn Wilde led her team scoring 12 points. The Rattlers were led by number 10 Kirstie Johnstone with 10 points. Going into the half the Lightning led 46 to 23. The Rattlers came out firing making it hard for the Lightning to keep their or extend it. The third quarter came to a close with each team scoring 16 points making the score 62 to 39 to start the fourth. Rattlers started the quarter with 6 consecutive shots with hopes of trying to close the gap on the aggressive Lightning. However the Lightning held on and came back extending their lead and ending the game with the win. The Lightning were led by player of the game number 3 Jazmyn Kellog with 23 points, 6 steals, 1 assist and 5 rebounds. While the player of the game for the Rattlers was number 4 Abrielle Watson with 11 points, 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 rebounds. The Lightning take on the Rattlers on their home court tomorrow night at 6pm.
