Clippers Win Nail-Biter Against Rattler to Close out Weekend Sweep

After a blowout loss on Friday, the Medicine Hat Rattlers were hoping that Saturday afternoon would be a different story, while the Clippers hoped for a similar fate.

Coming out of the gate the Rattlers ran out to a 6-0 lead before #6 Melissa Ellis was able to drain a three to add the first Clipper points to the scoreboard. With three minutes left in the first, the Rattlers were up 12-5 before the Clippers would go on a 9 point run to close out the quarter with a 14-12 lead.

The Rattlers would come out of the second quarter swinging, going on a 9-2 run to start the quarter before the Clippers would hit their stride once again to end off the half with a 29-23 lead.

The third quarter was a display of consistency for the Clippers as they were able to hold their lead heading into the fourth quarter with a score of 46-38.

The fourth quarter would begin with more Clipper dominance as they would go on a 16-10 throughout the first seven minutes of the quarter. Down 14, the Rattlers would begin to mount a comeback, hitting clutch jumper after clutch jumper. Eventually, the Clippers would secure the 65-63 win off of some clutch free throw shooting by #7 Brooklyn Martens.

The player of the game awards were awarded to #11 Brynn Bremner for the Rattlers who finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals, and #8 Amber Fichtner who finished with 24 points, 16 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.
