Lightning and Queens battle all night

The StMU Lighting played host to the visiting RDP queens in the second match up of the home and home series. A hard fought contest by both teams start to finish made for some exciting basketball. After the first 10 the lightning had a slight edge on the queens with a score of 21-19. Going into the break the lightning had pushed ahead to a 39-32 lead.

Defense was the key in the second half as the tightly contested game continued. A 13-10 3rd quarter saw the Lightning slowly building on their lead. Eventually the Lightning finished on top with a final score of 68-56.

Leading the way for the queens with a very strong performance and night was Amy Szymanek finishing the night with a double double 22 points and 13 rebounds. On the others side the Lightning were lead by Jazmyn Kellog who also poured in 22 points on the night.

 

Lightning are back in home court action Nov 18th when they take on the visiting University of Augustana Vikings.
