Wolves host Ooks

The Wolves hosted the NAIT Ooks for a Friday night game before heading to NAIT on Sunday.

The first points of the game go to the Ooks #5 Katherine McDougall and #6 Carly McHarg. NAIT goes up 4-0. A 3 point make by the Ooks triggers a time out by the Wolves. Gracie Reschke for the Wolves would sink 1 of 2 from the free throw line to end the 1st quarter. Quarter would end 19:5, in favor of the Ooks.

2nd quarter would start with Ooks scoring a field goal. #9 Sophie Leslie with the Wolves responds with a 3 point make. Nait scored a couple short hoops to go up 29:13. #5 Makayla Porteous with the Wolves goes 2 for 2 from the line to make the score 29:17, Ooks ahead. #20 for the Wolves would go 2 for 2 from the line to end the quarter, 32:19 for the Ooks. 2nd half action in 15 minutes.

Lots of scoring in the 3rd quarter. The Ooks pull ahead by 20 with 3 minutes to go. #20 Raylene Badger answers back to bring the Wolves within 18. Ooks lead 56:34 after 3 quarters.

NAIT scored the first 2 points in the 4th quarter. Wolves respond with a few to close the gap within 24 points. #20 Raylene Badger scores 1 for 2 from the line late in the quarter. #5 Makayla Porteous drains a 3 point shoot with a minute to go. Wolves down by 22. Another 2 for the Wolves, 56:76. From downtown #8 Jayden Demchuk drains a 3 to come within 17. NAIT would go on to win 76:59.

Player of the Game for the NAIT Ooks was #4 Aphia Ward and for the GPRC Wolves #20 Raylene Badger.
