Close game comes down to the final shot. Kodiaks beat the Rattlers 54-52

The Medicine Hat Rattlers played host to the Lethbridge Kodiaks in their temporary home as the Snakepit gets a facelift. The contest looked very evenly matched from the get go. The refs were calling a very tight game and both teams racked up early fouls. The game settled down and the tight back and forth match saw misses and makes on both ends. The score was knotted at 17 at the break. The second quarter saw more of the same with both teams rebounding well on the defensive end. Medicine Hat was able to convert on a few key baskets late to send them into the half up 5. This did not translate across however as the Rattlers came out of the half ice cold. Only making 7 points in the quarter the Rattlers fell behind as the surging Kodiaks took advantage of the Rattlers foul troubles inside. And took a one point lead into the 4th. In the final quarter the back and forth match was intense but neither team could gain a distinct advantage. Coming right down to the wire with 4 missed free throws gave the Rattlers one last chance that came up short with the Kodiaks taking it 54-52.
