CALGARY, ALTA., (Nov. 12, 2021) - The SAIT Trojans women's basketball team started their season on the right foot.

Ava Kearl scored 15 points to lead her Trojans to a 77-51 victory over the visiting Olds College Broncos in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) regular season opener played Friday night at SAIT's Campus Centre.

SAIT moves to 1-0 to start the year, while Olds College falls to 0-1.

The Trojans got off to a quick start in the game, taking a 23-8 lead into the second quarter on the back of Kearl's eight points in the opening 10 minutes of play. The Broncos were able to cut into the lead a bit by halftime, outscoring the home team 14-11 in the second to make the score 34-22 at the break.

After halftime, SAIT extended their lead and Olds could not do enough to get back into it.

The teams will meet again Saturday night in Olds.

SAIT's Celine Quigley and Olds College's Ali Taylor were named Players of the Game.
