Wolves welcomed the NAIT Ooks for the final game of 2019. The Wolves take an early lead in the first half 6-4, getting buckets from Caitlin, Kelly and Sophie. NAIT even outs the score with a 2 point make from #4 Sydney Hurlburt. The quarter remained tied until the Ooks went to the free through line. The game remained close, and the quarter ends, Ooks 13 and Wolves 11.
Wolves started the 2nd quarter slow, and the Ooks took off with some impressive offense. Scoring 14 points in the first half. The NAIT Ooks finish off the quarter with 31 points to the Wolves 11.
Ooks opened the 3rd with a bucket and drawn foul. Sophie Leslie drained a deep 3 for the Wolves for their first point since the 1st quarter. Followed by another 3 point Wolves bucket. NAIT's 2-3 zone defense was too much for the Wolves and they finish the quarter up 52-17.
Lane Challis sinks a deep 2 to put the Wolves to 19. #8 Lauren Payne responds for her 5th point of the game. The Wolves held the Ooks to 5 points throughout the first 5 minutes. The Wolves still struggled against the Ooks defense and the game ended 63-24.
Player of the game for the NAIT Ooks was #6 Carly Mcharg with 12 points and 5 rebounds and for the GPRC Wolves #8 Jayden Demchuk with 3 points and 7 rebounds.
Both teams will be on Christmas break until 2020.
