Huskies D Hold Ooks to no Field Goals in Third Period

Keyano Huskies look to regroup after back-to-back losses to the host Lakeland College Rustlers last week. Ooks come in with a record of 4-4 and the Huskies 4-2.

Huskies will have to hold Ooks' Sydney Hurlburt in check as she  is averaging nearly 18 points per game...fourth best in the ACAC. Huskies have the one-two punch of Moiyan Toure at 16 ppg and Aliyah Johnson at 15.8 ppg.

Toure also leads the ACAC in rebounding while windexing the glass at a 12.3 average.

1st Period

Takes the home side 2:11 to score their first point with a free throw swish by Kaitlyn de Sousa Martins (510" Forward 3rd Business Admin Saskatoon, Sk).

It's either Huskies milking-the-clock or a solid Ooks defence as the Huskies are taking errant shots with the 24-second shot clock running down.

A three-pointer by Kaleigh Sellars (5'6 Guard 3rd Business Admin  St. John's, Nfld) brings applause and even a "Downtown Freddie Brown" from the fans in the stand.

Ooks using the outlet pass to beat the Huskies down court.

Huskies coughed up six steals but did not capitalize as much as they could.

2nd Period

Huskies tie it up 18-18 on 3-pointer by Aliyah Johnson (5'7 Guard 4th Business  Fort McMurray, Alberta).

Huskies' Joy "The Vertical" Victor brings (5'7" Guard 3rd Business Admin Tortola, British Virgin Islands) some "ohhs and aahs" from a crowd as she showcases her amazing vertical leaps with a layup  to make it 20-18.

A Casey Gorieu (5'8" Guard 2nd Business Admin Stony Plain, Alberta) three- pointer with time running out sparks the Huskies.

Allison Hunder (5' 11" Guard 3rd Bachelor of Business St. Albert, Alberta) playing well for Ooks with eight points and four boards.

Moiyan Toure (6' Post 4th Early Childhood Education Edmonton, Alberta) with six points, three rebounds and four assists has to change her uniform number from her regular No. 23 to No. 24.

3rd Period

A swift coast-to-coast score by Johnson gives the Huskies a 36-24 lead.

Game turns into a track meet in favour of the Huskies.

Ooks score their first points of the period with 58 seconds  remaining with two  Hunder free throws.

4th Period

Ooks just not in rhythm with several air ball attempts. Huskies man-to-man pressuring.
