Buzzer Beats Lions

An extremely tight, back and forth game saw the Queen top the Lions tonight in the Den.  Neither team was able to stretch a lead over 10 points.  With seconds left Ambrose threw up a prayer 3 as time expired but it wasn't meant to be tonight.

Going into the 4th quarter, Ambrose led by 2, but wasn't able to hold on.  Even with the loss, the Lions found themselves a new fire going into the game.  Whether it was playing their last game with Deedee Matich and Cathy Dimonekene, or the energy from the crowd, the Lions played with passion and looked to have a lot of fun on the court.  Unfortunately they were not able to close the game out down the stretch.  For the Queens, Sandra Garcia-Bernal (selected as Red Deer's Player of the game) and Harneet Sidhu both played well offensively picking 18 points each.  Cathy Dimonekene led Ambrose with 17 points, while DeeDee scored 8 (both received P.O.G. awards for Ambrose).

The Lions have 1 more weekend left as they visit the SAIT Trojans next week Saturday.  Watch Live or on ACAC.TV at 6:00pm.
