Wolves host Thunder for the second game on the weekend series

The Wolves hosted the Thunder for their second game of their weekend series. The 1st quarter was close. The teams battled back and forth and kept it close. 14-10 after 10 minutes of play.

The 2nd quarter started with #11 Peters scoring for the Wolves with a quick bucket 1-minute in. Closes the gap to 2 points. #10 Lilee Burke-Stasiuk draws a foul and scores 2 points to tie the game at 14. Buckets were exchanged the rest of the half. In the final minute, #10 Lilee Burke-Stasiuk drove to the hoop and scored to put the Wolves within one. #11 Brittany Peters was fouled with 5 seconds left and went to the line and scored 2. Wolves are up 34-33.

Both teams eager to be the first to put points on the board. The teams battled back and forth for most of the quarter. #11 Britney Peters drew a foul late in the quarter and sunk both hoops. 46-41 for the Thunder. Sophie Leslie nails a 3 point shoot with under a minute to go to bring the Wolves within 2. Kelly Reid looks inside and feeds Derian Geddes for 2 points with under 20 seconds to go to tie the game. The third quarter ends tied at 46-46.

The Wolves start the 4th quarter eager for their first win of the season. 2 big 3 pointers come from #12 Sophie Melin to put the Wolves up by 7, biggest lead of the game. The Thunder call a time out with the Wolves up 64-53. #11 Britney Peters drains a 3 with a minute left in the game to put the Wolves up 13 points. Thunder didn't have time to play catch up and the Wolves win their first game of the season 69-61.

The Mr. Mikes Player of the Game for the GPRC Wolves is #12 Sophie Melin with 16 points. The Mr. Mikes Player of the Game for the Concordia Thunder is #11 Morgan Drool with 34 points.​
