Briercrest comes out on top in rivalry match

CARONPORT, SK- The Briercrest Clippers and the Ambrose Lions faced each other in a rivalry game Friday night in a well fought match, the Clippers coming out on top 73-64

Off the jump ball the two teams went back and forth against each other, this continued to be the case for the rest of the quarter finishing off with a Clippers 18-17 lead.

Starting off the second quarter the Clippers and Lions were resilient against one another and the game would not slip away from either team. At the end of the quarter the Clippers finished off on top with a score of 36-31. Key players up to this point was #3 Victoria Voth with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the Clippers, and for the Lions #9 Caitlyn Hetrick with 9 points and 3 rebounds.

Off the start of the second half was all Clippers pulling together a 10-2 run off the start of the third quarter. This momentum showed for the rest of the quarter, at the end of the third Briercrest was leading 53-41.

In the last quarter the Lions looked to pick their up their game, but failed to do so, expanding their deficit to the Clippers and ending the game off with a Clippers win 73-64.

Player of the game for the Clippers was #7 Amber Tilcox with 16 points, 3 assists and 10 rebounds. For the Lions #13 Tegan McArthur was player of the game with 14 points and 6 rebounds.
