Vikings finish off 2018 strong

Camrose, AB - The last regular season game of 2018 saw the Augustana Vikings Women's Basketball team take a win over the visiting Kings Eagles with a final decision of 61-41.

After a close start the Vikings pulled slightly ahead to lead 17-10 after the first quarter.

Despite a couple of made free throws from the Eagles, the Vikings expanded their lead to ten points with a score of 33-23.

During the halftime the Vikings hosted the Great Shave Off to end their Movember campaign. The Women's Volleyball Team brought out the clippers for the Men's Basketball Team.

In the third quarter the Eagles came closer to outscoring the Vikings but still fell a little short making nine points in the quarter while Augustana put in eleven making the score 44-32.

With both teams putting up close to the same amount of points as in the first quarter, the fourth saw the Vikings take off with this game leading to a final score of 61-41.

Marta Burchett, fifth year arts student from Oregon, put up 12 points and 4 rebounds for which she was awarded Player of the Game on The Kings Eagles side. For the Vikings the Player of the Game Award went to first year sociology student from Edmonton, Tobore Okome, who grabbed 4 points and 6 rebounds.
