Wolves Host University of Alberta Augustana Vikings

The Wolves welcomed the #10 ranked University of Augustana Viking to the gymnasium on Friday night. Lots of fans took to the stands to watch their Home Town Wolves play the undefeated Vikings.

The first quarter was an exciting match up as both teams were playing hard. #11 Britney Peters scored 6 points and #11 Torey Lauber had 11 points to the end the first half.

The Wolves entered the 2^nd half down 23-14. They started to make a come back and then took a bigger lead when #5 Lilee Burke-Stasiuk hit back to back to back 3 pointers to put the Wolves up 36-31 at half. The Wolves held the Vikings to 8 points in the 2^nd quarter.

Half Time was brought to you by the Gymniks Cheer Team from Grande Prairie. 5 different teams performed to entertain the crowd. They received lots of applause as they demonstrated their cheer skills.

Both teams came out strong in the 3^rd quarter. The Vikings were looking for redemption on the scoreboard. #6 for the Vikings lead the quarter with 6 points. The quarter ended Vikings up 56-49.

4^th and final quarter started. Wolves looking to regain the lead. They got 8 points from #11 Britney Peters but it wasn't enough as the Vikings held on strong to end the game 68-60.

The Mr. Mikes Player of the Game for the Wolves was #11 Britney Peters with 24 points and 6 rebounds.

For the Augustana Vikings #11 Torey Lauber with 17 points and 3 rebounds.

Both teams are back in action tomorrow afternoon starting at 1pm.
