OT Needed at the Snake Pit

A moment of silence preceded today's game between the SAIT Trojans and the Medicine Hat Rattlers at the Snake Pit. The SAIT trojans took control of the opening tip followed by the first part of the game. The SAIT shooters could not miss while the Rattlers could not buy a basket. The Trojans opened up a 13-3 lead before Medicine Hat called a Timeout to calm the troops. This seemed to work as the Rattlers came out and closed the lead to 2 by the end of the quarter 15-13.

The second quarter was another story all together. The Rattlers dominated the quarter lead by the impressive shooting of Kendell Kuntz going 3 for 3 from beyond the arc along with 2 field goals. This helped Medicine Hat find a groove as baskets started falling. An impressive scoring run had the rattlers leading 35-26 at the Half.

The second half looked more like the first quarter as the Rattlers offence once again looked cold. As the Trojans chipped away at the lead slowly the Rattlers were unable to convert on any trips down the floor. The Final 2 minutes of regulation saw end to end action as the Trojans took the lead away. The Rattlers Courtney Henry hit a last second 3 pointer to force the game into overtime tying it at 60.

SAIT came out strong again in Overtime scoring early. Some questionable calls saw Rattlers Coaching staff frustrated with consistency of calls. The Rattlers mounted a late comeback coming up short as they missed a basket to tie as time expired. A very exciting game all around, saw action throughout and a wild ending down to the buzzer.
