Lions Defeated By Trojans

The Ambrose Women's basketball team had a hard-fought game tonight but lost to the SAIT Trojans 57 to 95. The score at the end of the first quarter was 17 for Ambrose and 16 for SAIT and by the half it was 31 for SAIT to 29 for Ambrose. Ambrose played good defence throughout the first half and had a lot of defensive rebounds. Considering the fact that SAIT is known for their perimeter shooting, Ambrose held them to 31 points and SAIT did not have a lot of threes falling in the first half. But coming out of the break into the second half SAIT had two quick threes and layup which put Ambrose down by 10 within the first 2 minutes of the third quarter. SAIT then pulled away creating a big lead that was hard to catch up to. Ambrose was in early foul trouble with Lindsay Nicholas and Caitlyn Hetrick both conceding 2 fouls a piece in the first quarter. SAIT was able to create a lot of space and hit a lot of three pointers late in the 3rd quarter which helped them in their victory.
