Men's Volleyball Huskies top Vikings in straight sets

The Keyano Huskies Men's Volleyball team extended their home winning streak to four games Saturday at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta., dispatching the visiting University of Alberta – Augustana Vikings in straight sets (26-24, 25-12, 25-15).  
 
Trey Weinmeier led the Huskies with 10 kills, one ahead of teammate Athus Silva and his nine.  
 
In the first set, the Vikings pressed the Huskies and forced some errors on the home side's part, but the Huskies would recover and refocus to win the set before handily winning sets two and three.  
 
Joao Cunha was right behind Weinmeier and Silva with eight kills in the match. Silva led the Huskies with three blocks on the day, one ahead of Carter Bragg and Nikola Sreckovic, who each had two.  
 
Jonah Vander Leek led the Vikings with three kills, just ahead of the quartet of Boris Kuljanin, Devon Nazarchuk, Ricky Birkill, and Robbie Taylor, who each had two.  
 
Sreckovic picked up 29 assists in setting duties for the Huskies while Calder Thompson had 10 for the Vikings.  
 
Cameron Visscher took Player of the Game honours for the Huskies while Bryce Boan carried the honours for the Vikings.
