NAIT Ooks Defeat Huskies

The NAIT Ooks took on the Keyano Huskies at home tonight. Both teams came into this game tied at the top of the league with 16 points. It was a battle, but the NAIT Ooks came out victorious in the first of three games this weekend.

The first set started close, but the NAIT Ooks pulled forward halfway through to widen the score by five. Keyano was not backing down as they tried to close the gap, but an ace by Karter Godin gave the Ooks the momentum back. The NAIT Ooks win the first set 25-16.

The Keyano Huskies came out strong in the second set. Both teams kept it within a point until the ten-point mark when the Huskies started to pull ahead. NAIT came back, and soon enough, the game was within one again. The NAIT Ooks take the second set 25-22

Keyano was looking for a comeback going into the third set. The Huskies started strong, but the NAIT Ooks and their incredible momentum tonight wouldn't let them get too far. Carter Hills is third in the league for service aces, and it came through tonight with four. The Ooks took a considerable lead winning 18-7, but the Huskies came back to add a few points and close the gap. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as the Ooks won 25-14.

Both teams are back in action tomorrow night against each other at 8:00 PM.
