A close battle sees the Ambrose Lions winning 3-2

Olds, AB 

The Ambrose Lions won 3-2 (25-18, 32-30, 25-19, 25-18, 15-13) to the Olds College Broncos Men's Volleyball team on December 2, 2021 at the Ralph Klein Centre. 

The first set started out very strong for the Olds College Broncos. Aidyn Phillips and Haiden Hurtig had a great first set for the Broncos with a combined 8 kills. Josh Nickel and Nikita Marchenkov were strong contributors to the Lions in the first set. The first set ended with a score of 25-18 for the Broncos.

A very intense and close battle sees the Lions winning the second set with a score of 32-30. Number seven from the lions had a strong set with numerous kills all assisted by Setter Emmitt Juul-Hansen. The Lions played very strongly at the net and the Broncos battled back. Matheus Franca had 4 kills for the Broncos and Jesse Stoddart had 4 digs. 

The third set was also a close battle with both teams going back and forth. The Ambrose Lions won the set with a score of 25-19. The Olds College Broncos fought back in the fourth set taking it over the Lions by 25-18.

The fifth and final set was a quick and intense match with both teams going point for point until  ultimately the Lions won with a score of 15-13. 

The player of the game for the Ambrose Lions was number 11, Josh Nickel and the player of the game for the Olds College Broncos was number 6, Matheus Franca.
