Wolves host Keyano Huskies for a weekend pair

The GPRC Wolves hosted the Keyano Huskies from Fort McMurray for a double header. Coming off a tough 5 set loss, the Wolves were eager to get back on the court.

1st set started off all Huskie points. GPRC Coach Sam Tu'ivai calls a timeout at 8:4, Huskies leading. Out of the time out the Wolves could not get much going. The Huskies pull ahead 17:8 before ending the set 25:16. Huskies take a 1:0 lead.

A close 2nd set. Both teams battled hard at the net. The Wolves tried to come back from a 4 point deficit when GPRC Coach Sam Tu'ivai called a timeout. The set would end 25:21 and the Huskies take a 2:0 lead in the match.

Back and forth for the 3rd set leads to a Keyano timeout when the Wolves take the lead by 3. 15:12. After the timeout the Huskies will take the point and regain serve. They go up 17:16 before #17 Chad Morrison nails the kill from the back row. They exchange out of bound serves to tie at 18:18. #9 Tom Wheeler comes up with a big kill for the Wolves to go up by 2. With that Huskies call a timeout. #15 Justice Bigston finishes the set with a huge block. Wolves win 26:24. Huskies lead 2 sets to 1.

A battle at the net for both teams. The Huskies will pull away at the end and win 25:19.

Player of the Game for the GPRC Wolves was # 12 Koda Dunfield.

Next home game for the Wolves is Friday December 3 at 6pm when they host the Augustana Vikings.
