Kings Volleyball team downs Lethbridge College Kodiaks at Red Deer Polytechnic

Red Deer, AB - The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings utilized a balanced attack Sunday afternoon against the Lethbridge College Kodiaks and picked up a three set victory (25-17, 25-15 and 26-24).

Kings setter Maddux Greves mixed up the offence, finding outside hitters Patrik Toze (11 kills), Reece Lehman (nine kills) and first-year Brett Lower (seven kills), along with middles Dillon Gauci (five kills) and Cody Boulding (one kill) in the match win. 

Kodiaks' Jackson Gaehring, who was Lethbridge's Player of the Match, played a solid game for the visitors. Gaehring contributed 13 kills, seven digs, one stuff block, and one ace, while finishing with an impressive 0.550 hitting percentage.

Gaehring was part of Lethbridge's third set push, which nearly sent the match to a fourth. Kodiaks setters Liam Frost (13 assists) and Ben St. Pierre (11 assists) also found Nolan Moes for six kills, Adam Revet (three kills), and Jeremiah Bohnert (three kills).

Reece Lehman was named the North Star Sports Kings Player of the Game. He contributed nine kills, six digs, one ace, and one stuff block. Outside hitter Patrik Toze led the Kings with 11 kills. 

On Friday, November 19, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Volleyball will play the Olds College Broncos on the road at 6 pm. On the same evening, the Lethbridge College Kodiaks will host the Medicine Hat College Rattlers at 6 pm.
