Trojans skewer Rattlers in the snake pit.

The SAIT Trojans headed down to Medicine Hat to take on the Rattlers in the Snake Pit. Already a tumultuous season for the Home side, they hoped to play their way back into better position in the standings. The teams started the match trading points and the score slowly climbing early in the set. The Trojans were the first to break through winning 4 straight to take an 11-7 lead. they called a timeout to regroup early and get back in the set. They came out of the break strong scoring the first point, but they were unable to prevent a side-out right away.  The Trojans continued to be strong offensively as well as behind the service line. The Rattlers were committing too many unforced errors to play with a powerful Trojans squad. The Trojans continued to pull away at the end, winning the first ser 25-16

The second set opened with a Rattler Point off the serve only to be answered the next point by the Trojans. The teams continued to trade serves and timeouts as the score slowly worked its way up on the board. 9-9 neither team held any momentum advantage. From here, the Rattlers were able to score 3 straight taking a 12-9 lead and holding the momentum of the set. The Trojans regained composure and were able to swing the momentum back in their favor, taking over the lead. the Visitors lead 20-16 in the late stages of the set and were hoping to take a 2-0 lead. The Rattlers could not find much as they struggled to find anything. The Trojans once again closed out the set strong and won 25-16 going up 2 sets to 0.

The third set opened with the home side looking to extend the match. They got off to a hot start and were not making unforced errors like the first two sets. They were able to grab an 8-6 lead early in the set. SAIT not liking to be down answered immediately with a point of their own. They used this to grab the momentum and battled into a 10-10 tie. the Trojans started to again look like the better team on the court making less mistakes than the Rattlers. They converted this momentum into a 14-12 lead before the Rattlers won a marathon point to keep the Trojans within striking distance. The Rattlers were holding on for all they had but were still down 21-19 in the late stages of the set. The Trojans were just too strong ending up taking the set 25-23 and a 3 sets to none victory
