Briercrest too quick for the Lions

While the Lions showed flashes of brilliance, it was not enough to overcome the consistent Briercrest squad.  In a game that saw the Juul-Hansen brothers play against each other, and in general, a lot of connections on both sides, Briercrest was too strong and experienced for the Ambrose this evening.  While sets stayed close (in particular the 3rd) Ambrose didn't have the firepower tonight to push their team to victory.  Throughout the match, it seemed, when it really mattered, Briercrest would come up with a big play to neutralize Lions consistent attack.  Ryan Andres did a great job for Ambrose spreading the ball around and not relying on just 1 or 2 Lions attackers to get the job done, however the sheer size of Briercrest was too much for the Lions to overcome.   While not out of their league, Ambrose will need to show a stronger attack tomorrow if they want to upset Briercrest College.  Adrian Strandberg had a really efficient night, ending up with 7 kills and only 1 error, while for Briercrest, Bryton Codd also played error free Volleyball, ending up 13 kills and not a single attacking error.  Both players received the player of the game award for their terrific play.
