OLDS, Alta. - The Briercrest College Clippers put a definitive stamp on their match in Olds on Friday, knocking off the Olds College Broncos in straight sets at the Ralph Klein Centre.

Jordan Schnitzer put up a dominant performance in being named player of the game for Briercrest (8-11), finishing with 12 kills, six digs and four solo blocks while Mitchell Erickson also posted big numbers with 10 kills and 20 digs.

Thundersky Walkingbear did his part in being named player of the game for the Broncos (0-19), finishing with 10 kills and seven digs, while Jesse Stoddart finished with six kills and 11 digs.

The opening set started out relatively even, though Briercrest gradually gained momentum as it progressed. The Broncos fought hard to force extra points, but the Clippers eventually put the set away at 25-23.

From there, momentum was clearly in Briercrest's court as they sought to gain ground on Medicine Hat College for the final ACAC South playoff spot. The Clippers jumped out to an early 10-6 lead in the second set, then gradually stretched it out en route to a 25-18 win to put the Broncos on the ropes.

After an even start to the third set, Briercrest flipped a switch and completely dominated, winning a stretch of 12 consecutive points to cap the match with a convincing 25-8 victory.

The Clippers and Broncos will meet again tomorrow at 3 p.m., also at the Ralph Klein Centre.
