Trojans drop third straight

CALGARY, ALTA., (Oct. 20, 2018) — The SAIT Trojans men's volleyball team did not have a lot to say following their loss Friday night.

The Trojans were disposed of in three sets, falling 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-22) to the visiting Red Deer College Kings in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game played at SAIT's Campus Centre.

"It all starts with passing; they're a good serving team," said Trojans libero Andrew Birchall (2nd year, Calgary, Business Administration). "It's hard to execute a play when you don't have a good pass and we didn't get enough of them tonight."

SAIT's third-straight loss drops their record to 3-3 on the year. Red Deer College improves to 2-3.

"It's pretty frustrating, yeah," Birchall said about the losing streak. "But, we need to be able to let it go and focus on the next game and what we need to do to win it."

Regan Fathers led the Kings with 14 kills and 10 digs.

Tyler Latu'ila (4th year, Auckland, New Zealand, Bachelor of Business Administration) led the Trojans with seven kills and six digs.

The Trojans will get a chance to split the weekend set tomorrow night in Red Deer in an 8pm start.
