Ooks Lose Close One to Vikings

The Augustana Vikings sailed over to the NAIT arena on November 25th. Shortly after the first period started, the Vikings' #7 Jacob Biensch quickly found the back of the net and scored the first goal. Both teams created intense battles against the boards, with the puck flying from zone to zone. Shortly after the puck dropped in the Ooks zone, the Vikings Biensch was at it again as he shot the puck to the back of the net, scoring the second goal of the night.

In the second period, the Vikings win the puck drop, but the NAIT Ooks work hard to get the puck into the Vikings' zone. The Ooks had double the shots on goal halfway through the second period, but the Vikings' tough defense had not allowed the Ooks to score a goal. Finally, with 3 minutes left in the second period, Brandon Lawson hit one, cutting the Vikings' lead in half.

It was 2-1 for Augustana after two.

The third period put pressure on both teams with constant battles for the puck. Ten minutes into the third, both teams had added a goal to their number. Vikings forward Jaxon Georget finally found the back of the net to extend his team's lead. The Ooks worked hard to dump the puck into the opponent's zone, but they weren't getting many chances. With three minutes left on the clock, Ooks forward Keaton Holinaty finds the back of the net to put his team within one. The Ooks pulled their goalie in the last minute of the game, but it wasn't enough, as the Vikings won 3-2.
