With less than a minute remaining, Thunder #13 Tristan Gagnon scored and closed out the third period 3-2.

The second period found the Thunder keeping their momentum and the lead by striking first with a goal by #7 Keegan Tiringer. This was followed by another goal from the Thunder by #27 Tyler Schendel. Hard back and forth play from both teams but in the end, Thunder took the second period 5-2.

The third period kept the intensity and showed both teams working hard to get an inch on one another but Concordia was able to outscore the Ooks 2-1 in the period. Striking first, Thunder #7 Keegan Tiringer scored in the first minute of play during a power play opportunity. This was followed by NAIT Ooks striking back with a goal by #16 Brenden Klatt. Exciting action followed and the Thunder scored again by #Rylan Nivon to bring the score and game to 7-3. The One Team Sports player of the game for the NAIT Ooks was #19 Mitchell Williams and for the Concordia Thunder #27 Tyler Schendel.

Head Coach Joey Bouchard had this to say after the game "We talked about special teams and how important it was going to be tonight. Our power play and our penalty kill did a great job. We rolled our four lines, our six defencemen and our goalie played well. That was the best game we've played this season. We were structured, we played a great 200 foot game. Our guys were relentless and I really liked the way our guys played with constant work ethic and constant pressure. I thought we played really into our identity tonight and it paid off."

Concordia Thunder Player of the Game, Tyler Schendel had this to say after the game "That was the battle of the two top teams in the league and I think we made a statement coming out on top. Our goalie Sam stepped it up with Bowerman being hurt and it's good to see a guy like that succeed and we're gonna keep it rolling."
