EDMONTON AB – In tonight's match, the Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder, played host to the visiting SAIT Trojans. The Trojans took down the Thunder with a score of 4-2.
The Thunder opened up the scoring in the opening minute of the game, after a faceoff win and a quick break snuck one past the Trojans tender. The Trojans would answer back and tie the game up, but the Thunder dominated the first period outshooting the Trojans 17-9 with some strong scoring chances at both ends of the ice.
The Trojans came out with two quick back-to-back goals in the second period. Just minutes apart, the lead was taken and solidified, as the second goal would be the game winning goal that put the Thunder away. The Trojans had some great chances, but the Thunder goalie was able to make some incredible saves to give the Thunder a fighting chance at the comeback.
This will conclude this weekend's home-at-home series between the Thunder and the Trojans, the series ended 1-0-1 for the Trojans. The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Trojans was #18 Kevin Massy and for the Thunder #3 Evan Wood.
