Vikings hard fought win against against Clippers

Augustana Vikings are successful with the first game of the semester against the Briercrest Clippers. The fans come out to show their support for both teams and await the end result eagerly.

With puck drop at 7:30, both teams come refreshed from the break and ready. Vikings #22, Mayan makes the first goal of the game in less than a minute! Mayan is assisted by Vikings #14, Groom. Clippers do not let that first goal get them down as they bring the hit going into the second period with a score of 1-0.

Vikings #21 Hamly scored the second goal with assists from Vikings #4, Tambasco and Vikings #17, Osczevski. The third goal for the Vikings was scored by #10, Danczak with assists from #16, Warmington and #19, Kozluk.

Briercrest Clippers do not give up and score in the 3rd on a power play. #11, Poncelet scores the goal with the assist from #9, Vanderwal, and #8, Lawson. Both teams goalie have outstanding games. #40 DeKoning, from the clippers, ends the game with a total of 37 saves out of 40 saves. #31, Curtis Skip, Vikings goalie ends the game with 16 saves out of 17 saves.

After a great effort from both teams, the final score of the game was 3-1 for the Augustana Vikings.

The Clippers #11, Reagan Poncelet and Vikings #14 Ryan Groom were award with the Player of the Game award.
