Ooks come from behind to defeat Vikings

EDMONTON, Alta. - The NAIT Ooks men's hockey team defeated the Augustana Vikings 3-1 on Saturday night in the NAIT Gymnasium.

 Not a whole lot went on in the first 50 minutes of play in this one, except for the two goalies Brendan Jensen (NAIT) and Zak Babin (UAA) playing stellar. In the final ten minutes, the game got good. 

Augustana Vikings Lukas Biensch came across the NAIT blue line and snapped a puck through Tyler Kunz and past a screened Jensen to put his team up 1-0. The Viking's lead was short-lived, as 90 seconds later, Tanner Younghans would corral a bouncing puck in the slot and slide it low blocker to tie the game at one. Two minutes after that, NAIT's Matt Dykstra came streaking down the right-wing, taking the Vikings defender wide and going backhand bunk over Brabin to give the Ooks the lead. Devon McAndrews later added an empty netter. 

"When you get four points against a strong Augustana team, it's a successful weekend! "We played a complete game, however, ran into a hot goalie and finally got to him in the third period," said NAIT head coach Tim Fragle.
