Ooks Men's Hockey Defeat SAIT 4-3

EDMONTON, ALTA. - Brandon Ralph had 3 points as the NAIT Ooks men's hockey team defeated the SAIT Trojans 4-3 on Friday night in the NAIT Arena.

The game started out as a back and forth affair, but as time went on the Ooks began to gain momentum. At the 12:42 mark in the opening frame Parker Evans-Campbell was called for tripping. On the powerplay, Dylan Stewart would capitalize, giving the Ooks a 1-0 lead. Shortly after Stewart's goal, Tanner Dunkle would beat Payton Lee to make it a 2-0 game at the first intermission. 

In the second, the Trojans would find some life as Dean Allison scored 5:46 into the period. Isaac Farrah quickly responded for NAIT twenty seconds later to make it a two-goal game once again. The Ooks would find themselves on the losing end of a five on three penalty-kill as Zach MacNeill beat Brendan Jensen at the 11:52 mark of the second frame. 

In the final period, Brandon Ralph would score his second of the game for the NAIT, while Parker Evans-Campbell potted a goal of his own for SAIT, both within minutes of each other. That is where the game would end resulting in a 4-3 victory for the Ooks.

  • 2016-2017 ACAC Player of the Year, Brendan Jensen is 3-0 and has a 2.00 GAA since returning from injury on October 26th.

  • The NAIT Ooks are now 6-3 and sit T-3rd in the ACAC with the Trojans (6-3).
