RDC Kings take back to back Wins over the Vikings

Camrose, AB - Encana Arena saw another tough battle between the Red Deer Kings and the Augustana Vikings on this back to back weekend. The Kings managed to take both wins with a final score of 4-3 for Saturday's match up.

Joren Johnson of the Vikings started off the scoring unassisted and short handed less than ten minutes into the game. This was answered by two Kings goals in the second half of the period, both scored by Chase Thudium.

Going into the second period the score was 2-1 for the Kings, but Jimmy Sheehan was determined to change that, scoring one just after the five minute mark to tie things up. Red Deer regained their lead ten minutes later with a goal by captain Tanner Butler giving the Kings a 3-2 lead heading into the last period.

The Kings were able to pick up a 4-2 lead less than one minute into the third period with Lynnden Pastachek scoring one of his own goals after having assisted the first two. Lukas Biensch managed to chip in another goal for the Vikings with less than four minutes remaining in the game but unfortunately it was not enough for the Vikings to take the win on this one.

Chase Thudium of the Kings ended up picking up the Player of the Game Award for his 2 goals and 2 assists. On the Augustana side Player of the Game was awarded to fourth year centre, Lukas Biensch.
