Thunder Host Trinity Western University Spartans in Pre-Season Action

The Thunder continued their preseason this weekend by hosting the Trinity Western University Spartans on Friday night. There was no shortage of offence at Clareview Arena as the Spartans opened up the scoring early in the 1st with a goal from #24 Dylan Cumamo and were able to control the game with a 4-1 lead for the first half of the game.

Concordia started their rally midway through the 2^nd with a goal from #18 Chance Thomas followed by two shorthanded goals early in the 3^rd from #37 Phil Dillon and #2 Scott Allan to give the Thunder a 5-4 lead. The Spartans would tie it up with a goal from #32 Jarrett Fontane however the Thunder responded with two quick goals from #28 Chase Fallis and #21 Tyler Benko to recapture the lead 7-5. The Spartans made a late 3^rd period push by scoring with 1:24 left on the clock to bring them within one however were unable to tie the game with a last minute effort pulling goaltender #25 Lucas Mills. The Thunder took the win 7-6 in a wild finish!
