February 28th - MBB Championship Game 6

The first quarter started off with some fast-paced, aggressive offense from both teams. Success was found by driving to hoop and scoring inside the paint. Yaadvir Dhaliwal (#7) had a couple of early 3's while he commanded the Thunder's offense. Trojans finished the quarter up 19-17.

Trojans' offense in the 2nd quarter was focused on driving to the paint and looking for easy buckets. Multiple and-1 plays and a persistent "push the pace" defensive and offensive effort by the Trojans kept the Thunder on their heels. Kyler Dutka (#15) for the Thunder kept his team in the fight with a deep 3, some easy 2's, and consistent defensive stops. While the Thunder saw themselves up 35-30 at one point, the Trojans went on a strong 8-2 run to finish the half up 43-37.

The 3rd quarter was a fairly standard back and forth fight. Killian Yopa (#12) continued to lead the Trojans, while Alex Maclean (#14) came off the bench to provide some timely 3's for the Thunder. The Trojans finished the quarter ahead 61-55.

The Thunder had some ground to cover to catch up to the Trojans in the 4th. The quarter started with a 4 minute dry spell, with solid defense on both ends. Trojan Jaden Matthews (#5) was fouled hard and did not play again, setting the Trojans back a key player. Late in the quarter, the Thunder found some rhythm, cutting the lead to 2 thanks to some clutch buckets by Maclean and Dutka. The Trojans were able to stifle the Thunder's comeback attempt with some timely freethrows and absurd amount of rebounds by Yopa, taking this game with a score of 76-73.

Player of the game Killian Yopa put the Trojan's on his back, recording a solid 15 points and an unreal 18 rebounds, 10 of which were offensive!

The Thunder's three-headed monster of Dhaliwal, Maclean, and Dutka was not enough to stop the Trojan's deep bench. All three players recorded an impressive 17 points, and player of the game Kyler Dutka also had 4 big blocks.
