SAIT beats NAIT In Game 3

Inter-division rivals SAIT Trojans and NAIT Ooks matched up in their first-round matchup of the ACAC championships. NAIT would have their hands full defending ACAC South player of the Year Marcus Masters.

The teams matched each other bucket-for-bucket to start the game with NAIT taking the early 14-12 lead. But they quickly went cold as SAIT closed out the first on an 8-0 run over the final 4:30 of the quarter to win the frame 20-14.

The Trojans continued to roll into the second quarter reaching their largest lead of the game with a 16-point advantage halfway through the frame. Unfazed, the Ooks answered back with a run of their own to get back within 6 before the end of the half, sporting a 37-43 deficit going into the break.

SAIT continued their trend of strong starts in the third, jumping back out to a 13-point lead after a three-pointer from Charlie Conner. Ephraim Humilde led the response for the Ooks, outscoring the Trojans 13-4 over the final 4 minutes to get back within three down 57-60 going into the final frame.

The fourth quarter was all Trojans getting back out to a 12-point advantage with just 3 minutes to play. The Ooks put up a fight, getting back within a pair of threes put in the end it wasn't enough.

With the win, SAIT advances to play the winner of the Keyano Huskies and the Ambrose Lions. Player of the game awards were given to Trojans #0 Marcus Masters who led all scorers with 30 points on the night, and Ooks #11 Ephraim Humilde who led NAIT in scoring with 19 off the bench.
