Ooks Punch Ticket to ACAC Championship

The NAIT Ooks men's basketball hosted an ACAC play-in game against The King's University Eagles Friday night in the NAIT gymnasium. It was a high-scoring game between the Ooks and the Eagles. The Ooks, however, came out on top, punching their ticket to the ACAC Championship winning, 113-89.

The Ooks got on the scoreboard first with number nine, Yasser Abdullahi, draining a three-point shot. The Eagles responded quickly with a drive to the net. The Ooks' lead grew over the Eagles with strong offensive plays from numbers four, seven and nine. Abdullahi scored eighteen points in the first quarter. After the first quarter, the Ooks lead on the scoreboard 39-21.

The intensity of play from the first quarter continued into the second quarter. Both teams worked tirelessly on defence and offence. The Eagles looked to close in on the Ooks' lead but came up short. At the end of the first half, the Ooks lead by 19, 61-42.

After the halftime break, both teams were playing strong offensively and defensively. The Ooks continued to dominate on the scoreboard, with several of the Ooks players putting up numerous points each. At the end of the third quarter, the Ooks held their lead over the Eagles, 82-62.

The fourth quarter was intense between the Ooks and the Eagles, with their seasons on the line. Both teams were playing a physical game, with both being in bonus for several minutes of the fourth quarter. The Ooks finished the game with a win of 113-89 over the Eagles.

The players of the game were number four, Benjamin Kamba, from the Ooks and number 10, Logan Den Oudsten, from the Eagles.
