The first quarter of play had the Thunder and Lightning battling hard for their team. The Lightning came out strong but the Thunder fought back and kept the game close. The Lightning had a slight lead heading into the second quarter ahead by 2 points at 23 to 21.

The second quarter proved no different as the Lightning and Thunder continued to battle keeping the crowd on their feet and the game close. The Lightning finished the half ahead by 2 points. Making the half time score 43 – 41.

The start of the third had either team hungry for the win but it was the Lightning that came out on top and had an explosive third quarter which increased their lead to 9 points and ending the quarter with the Lightning leading 64 to 55.

In the fourth quarter of play the Lightning continued with seamless play and more determined than ever to secure themselves the win. The Lightning overcame the Thunder with a 29 to 17 quarter and ended the game with a win at 93 to 72.
