Ooks Glide to Victory Over Broncos

On Friday night, the NAIT Ooks men's basketball team played the Olds College Broncos at the NAIT gymnasium. The Ooks won the game 95-62.

In the first quarter, the Ooks came out strong as they took the lead early, with number five Vishal Dhillion putting up five points within the first 3 minutes. However, the Broncos quickly closed the gap with drives from number ten Fritz Rostek. The Ooks' defence struggled to box out the Broncos, and the Broncos tied the game up. The Broncos took the lead with a foul shot from number nine Artemus Rapada. The Ooks called the first timeout of the game to shift the momentum. The Ooks took the lead back and barely managed to hold onto it leading the game going into the second quarter.

The Ooks lead the game 25-19 over the Broncos after the first.

In the second quarter, the Ooks dominated the court offensively with fantastic outside shooting from number eleven Ephraim Humilde, leaving the Broncos scrambling to catch up. With the Broncos down by fourteen, they called their first time out of the game. The Broncos thought they started to chip away at the Ooks' lead, but the Ooks managed to hold the lead going into the second half.

The Ooks lead the game 49 – 31 after the second quarter.

In the third quarter, the Ooks continued to control the game as the Broncos struggled to defend against the Ooks' constant drives to the net. However, the Broncos gained momentum with great layups from number nine Artemus Rapada and ten Fritz Rostec. The Ooks continued to grow their lead with offensive drives from number six Luca Korosek and four Benjamin Kamba.

The Ooks lead the game 75- 50 after the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Ooks dominated offensively, leaving the Broncos behind with impressive outside shooting from numbers seven Griffin Lorenz and three Dante Dinter. The Broncos struggled Offensively to get through the Ooks' defence. The Ooks won the game.

The Ooks won the game 95-62.
