Men's Basketball Huskies charge past Thunder to stay perfect

The Keyano Huskies Men's Basketball team rolled to another strong home win Saturday at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta., topping the Concordia Thunder 86-52. 

Starting the game with a 23-8 first quarter, the Huskies held favour early. The Thunder tried to get back into the game with strong pushes in the second and third quarters, but lost each frame by five points. A 22-13 quarter in favour of the home side closed out the match with the Huskies holding a 34-point advantage. 

Sean-Michael Clancey added another triple-double to his impressive Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) resume with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Jusci Thompson had 16 points off the bench while Omeechi Williams poured in 14 to round out a trio of double-digit scorers. 

Nick Gibb led the visiting Thunder with 18 points while Milton Lendein added 13 in the losing effort. 

The Huskies shot 36.4 percent (28-for-77) from the field, making 15 three-point shots in the contest. They also made 15 free throws throughout Saturday's game. On the visiting side, the Thunder shot 27.8 percent (15-for-54) from the field, making a trio of three-point shots. They also added 19 points through free throws. 

Thompson and Lendein each earned Player of the Game honours for their respective sides.
