MBB| Kodiaks Increase Win 5th Straight as They Tamed the NWP Wolves

The Kodiaks looked to keep their win streak going as they welcomed the NWP Wolves to Kodiak Country in their first interdivisional matchup of the season.

Both teams brought the pressure right off the hop with good offensive discipline allowing both teams to put points up on the board. Kodiaks #7 Filip Karanovic and #12 Paycen Blackmore popped off all over the court with Blackmore picking up 8 points in the quarter alongside Karanovic potting 5 of his own along with 5 assists boosting the Kodiaks to a 28-21 lead after the 1st quarter.

The Kodiaks continued to be aggressive offensively and defensively making key stops as well as great ball movement in the offensive zone with Kodiaks #8 Chris Schlauwitz stepping up with 10 points in the 2nd frame with the assistance of Filip Karanovic gathering another 5 assists to bump the Kodiaks up to 57-39 at the half.

The Kodiaks did not slow down in the 3rd quarter keeping the pedal to the metal covering lots of ground and growing their lead on the Wolves with Kodiaks #14 Adyn Card coming out of nowhere and being the player to keep an eye on dropping 8 big points for Lethbridge thrusting the Kodiaks forward with an 81-59 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

The Kodiaks were able to tame the Wolves preventing them from gaining any ground on them as Lethbridge continued to put push their way up the scoreboard with the work of 1st year Orin Smith grabbing 3 points in the 4th to defeat NWP 97-71.
