NWP Wolves hosted the Keyano Huskies for their home opener

The Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves welcomed the Keyano Huskies for a pair of weekend games for their home opener.
The game opens with a big block from #20 Emmanuel IIkoa. Keyano responds to go on a 4-0 run. #20 Emmanuel IIoka drains a 3 to come within in 1 point of the Huskies. #20 for a base side jumper for the Wolves. Terrance Lennox drains a big 3 from behind the arc and the Wolves find themselves up by 6. #11 Terrance Lennox hits another 3 point shot while the Huskies respond with a 3. 15-12 for the Wolves. Huskies score a jump shot to come within 1. A tight 1st quarter as both teams battle on offense, 21:18 for the Wolves heading into the break.
Huskies open the scoring in the 2nd quarter. With the first 4 points, they take the lead. #10 Liam Davison scores off the ball screen as the Wolves regain the lead. Wolves head coach Evan Lloyd calls a timeout at 27:23 Huskies. The Wolves score a jumper and forces a Huskie timeout. #20 Emmanuel IIoka is subbed back into the game and scores a layup in transition. Wolves down by 2. #8 Christian Liwanag goes coast to coast and the Wolves go up by 4. Keyano would respond with a 3 point make, Wolves up by 1. A battle of offense and #8 Chris Liwanag comes out on top. Wolves take the lead by 2.
Half time entertainment featured Dream Dance Circus. A talented local dance group.
First on the board in the 3rd quarter was the Wolves. Keyano followed shortly behind to tie the game 41. Wolves keep the pressure on, scoring back to back and taking the lead by 4. Keyano answers back and takes the lead 49-47. #9 Bruce Beddoe with the steal and pass to #10 Liam Davison for a beautiful dunk. Huskies take back the lead 54-49 and Wolves call time out. Wolves struggled on the offense and the quarter ended 57:49 for the Huskies.
Lots of chances for the Wolves in the 4th quarter, had some trouble converting and Keyano takes the game 75:67.
Player of the Game for the Keyano Huskies was #5 Omeechi Williams.
Player of the Game for the NWP Wolves was #9 Bruce Beddoe.
Both teams are back in action tomorrow at 3pm at NWP gymnasium.
