Wolves host Ooks for first playoff game
GPRC Wolves welcomed the NAIT Ooks for a Friday night playoff game.
The Ooks go on a 7-0 run to start the 1st quarter. #20 Manny IIoka scores first for the Wolves. Drawing a foul #20 Manny IIoka goes to the line for 2. Shak Nasim draws a foul to start the 2nd quarter. Connects on the 1st and the 2nd. Wolves up 20-15. #4 Grayson Young for the Ooks hits a 3 to close the gap at 20-18 for the Wolves. With the shot clock running down #8 Christian Linwanag hits a jumper. Wolves up 4. NAIT will sink one more jumper before head coach Evan Lloyd calls a timeout. Wolves up 22-20. A few more buckets from the Wolves and they go up 29-20 before the NAIT Ooks call a time out. The 2nd quarter would end 31-23, Wolves ahead.
#8 Christian Linwanag hits the first jumper for the Wolves. NAIT Ooks try to respond, denied by a big block by Manny IIoka. NAIT head Coach calls a time out when the Wolves go up 16. NAIT would respond with a 2 point make. The Ooks come back within 10 before #5 Liam Davison drains a 2 point jumper. Manny IIoka for the Wolves picks up a bucket from the key and the Wolves are up 9.
