Huskies Too Much For Thunder on Sunday Afternoon

EDMONTON, AB (February 6, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder close out their weekend by welcoming the Keyano Huskies Sunday afternoon. After an early back and forth play, the Huskies found their momentum and took the game over the Thunder 122-79.

The game started out running with high intensity and speed. With points going back and forth all quarter, the Huskies were able to take the lead over the Thunder 25-20. Keeping their momentum and widening the lead, the Huskies outscored the Thunder 34-21 and took the half 64-46.Coming back from the half, the Thunder put the pressure on and worked to close the gap but the Huskies kept their lead and took the third quarter 98-62. The Thunder fought hard in the fourth quarter with intensity and drive but with their large lead, the Huskies took the match 122-79. 

After the game, Thunder head coach Reagan Wood commented, "Third game in three days for us was tough for us but I'm proud of how we fought through the adversity. Keyano is a very solid team and they shot the ball extremely well today. Looking forward to our next challenge against Lakeland and GPRC next weekend." 

The One Team Sports Players of the game were #8 Sean-Michael Clancey for Keyano Huskies and #2 Nick Gibb for the Concordia Thunder.
